My Family

I grew up in College Station, where my mom was my AP Physics teacher in high school. I have a 2 year old Bernedoodle named Gracie, who loves long walks, lots of treats, and new friends. I love my Church family at Providence Church, where I serve in Students and the Bridge (5th & 6th grade).

What's your favorite LCA memory or best teaching moment?

My favorite moment every year is when my AP Physics students come in and tell me about something that happened to them – usually while driving or playing sports – and then proceed to tell me all about the physics of that moment and what they saw. I love seeing the learning we are doing in the classroom translating into their everyday experiences.

What is your favorite scripture? Why?

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2: 8-10

I love the reminder that it is not my actions that result in my salvation, but that my faith is a gift from God. The the Lord has planned any good works I do yo be for His glory and not my own. It gives me freedom to not feel like I have to prove myself or earn God's favor, but can live according to His will because He has already saved me.
