My Family

Hello there! My name is Nick Rhodes. I was born and raised in Prosper, TX, and completed both of my college degrees out of state at the University of Arkansas and the University of Oklahoma. It was during my time in Arkansas that God used two of my closest friends to pursue me and draw me into my faith in Jesus Christ! After working with the Cru high school ministry for one year after graduate school, I joined the wonderful LCA team here as the Lower School music teacher. I am preparing to take on a new role as the Lower School computer science teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. I am also the Director of Music for Metrocrest Presbyterian Church in Carrollton, TX. I am married to my beautiful wife Raquel, and we now have a sweet baby boy named Christian who was born in December 2022. We love being a part of the LCA community!

What is your favorite part of the school day?

During morning duty, I get to spend time in the cafeteria with the students who have been dropped off early. That time has been so precious to me. It is an intentional time where I get to find the students that I need to build relationships with and spend dedicated time chatting and learning more about them. When you only see every kid for 45 minutes a week in class, this time becomes extra special! I'm fortunate enough to be in a role where I see this carried out across every division and have the privilege to share their work with our families and community through our marketing and communications.

What is your favorite scripture and why?

My favorite verse is Hebrews 10:14: “For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.” I believe this verse fully encapsulates the beautiful truth of the Gospel of Jesus. Christ's single offering of Himself on the cross is the once-and-for-all final sacrifice to atone for the sins of man, and for those who are being sanctified, He has given them His perfection for all time not on the basis of what we have done, but what He has done on our behalf. This verse regularly comforts me with its truth, draws me back to my LORD, and reminds me that it is finished!
