My Family

I am originally from Colorado. I grew up there and moved to Texas when I was 25. I have been married to my husband Bill for almost 33 years. We have two grown children that are Legacy Alums and currently live Florida. Our son Hayden is 26 years, our daughter Madi is 25 years old. We have a little brown schnauzer named Hazel, she is 7 years old.

What's the funniest thing that's happened in your class?

One day I was teaching a group of lower school art students. One of our marketing staff members interrupted our class. She came in the classroom door and announced that we had a special visitor. As she stepped in I noticed she had a camera crew (camera pointed right at me) and was holding onto a large leash! Immediately I became a little apprehensive. Out from behind her I noticed a rather large animal step into the classroom. The children froze in amazement as we all stared at a full-grown alpaca! Turned out to be part of a promotional event to mark the dedication of our new LPAC. It was such a surprising and funny experience to see this giant animal in my classroom!

What is your favorite scripture? Why?

Nehemiah 8:10 nasb
..for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
This verse has been a comfort, a source of strength and helped me keep a healthy perspective on life. I have been reminded over and over that having joy in the midst of every circumstance is a conscious choice and something that can only come from the Lord.
