Legacy Christian Academy is thrilled to announce the appointment of Neil Childs as the new Associate Head of School. Neil brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to training the next generation to lead with biblical convictions.

Neil’s leadership approach is characterized by a dedication to pursuing innovative solutions to problems. He encourages “outside the box” solutions, providing ample room for the team to explore and prioritize technical problem-solving. We are confident that his abilities will allow us to achieve higher levels of academic and Christian-worldview excellence across the school. 

In a statement provided by Mr. Childs, he expressed gratitude and excitement for joining the Legacy community after 28 years of integral service at Temple Christian School. His roles at Temple Christian School included Middle School principal, varsity football coach, Bible teacher, and SST coordinator. For the past 11 years, Neil has served as the Headmaster, demonstrating exceptional leadership and dedication.

Neil Childs holds a Bachelor's degree in Biblical Studies and Pastoral Ministry from Arlington Baptist University and a Master of Arts in Christian School Education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Throughout his career, his commitment to education and passion for training young people have been evident.

Reflecting on his journey, Neil shared, “My greatest passion is to train the next generation of young people to change the world with the power of the Gospel.” He emphasized his dedication to partnering with parents in the mission of Legacy Christian Academy, stating, “I am honored, grateful, and excited to become part of the Legacy community and commit to partnering with you in training your child to be a Strong Leader with Biblical Convictions.”

Dorothy Smith, an LCA trustee, expressed enthusiasm for Neil Childs joining Legacy Christian Academy, stating, “I am so pleased Neil Childs will be joining Legacy Christian Academy as our new Associate Head of School. He brings to us a wealth of experience that will do nothing but push our school forward, advancing the Kingdom in the process.”

Paula Brothers, Chief People and Culture Officer, shared insights from the recruiting process, saying, “I have had the pleasure of getting to know Neil through our rigorous recruiting and hiring process. We are excited for the impact he will have as he steps into the role of Associate Head of School, serving our academic team. Neil is exceptionally qualified as an experienced and humble leader. I am confident he will serve LCA well.”

Kevin Mosley, Head of School, excitedly anticipates Mr. Childs becoming a valuable LCA executive team member. “Mr. Childs brings a wealth of experience to LCA. His leadership will focus on the day-to-day delivery of LCA’s mission in and through our educational programs. He is a faithful servant leader who will shepherd our excellent team to remain focused on our mission and core values as an institution.”

Neil Childs is joined by his wife of 28 years, Julie, who served as the Fine Arts Director at Temple Christian School, and their two sons, Avery and Ayden.
