Homecoming 2017

Another fun-filled homecoming week has come and gone, and we’re now looking back on the good times.

This year we had a modified homecoming schedule in order to ensure a smooth-running week. While Monday and Tuesday were regular class days, the rest of the week was dedicated purely to fun activities. On Wednesday, for the “Keep It Real” theme, the students dressed up as their favorite Movie or TV character, and Thursday was full of glitter and galaxy patterns for “Out of This World” day. The Upper School continued Legacy’s pomping tradition and spent the majority of Wednesday putting together their pomp boards, with the senior’s board winning first place. That night, each advisory chose an activity to spend the evening doing for a fun bonding experience. On Thursday, grades 7-12 participated in a friendly dodgeball competition and finished the day by packing the gym in support of the Varsity volleyball team.

Friday was an exciting day for everyone with the annual school parade and pep rally in the morning. Families and friends gathered in the evening for community and football, and alumni caught up with their high school friends and teachers at the tailgate dedicated to them. Before the game began, Coleman Taylor and Halee Biggs were crowned Homecoming King and Queen. The rest of the court consisted of Ethan Daryanani, Grace Pettijohn, Collin Davison, Rachel Ngyuen, Conner Griffith, and Kaylee May as the other senior nominees, juniors Denton Beams and Alexandra Liberis, sophomores Jonah Petty and Halle Hinton, and freshman Tyler Heaton and Kate Pettijohn.

The week ended with the Upper School homecoming dance, a night full of fancy clothes, group dinners, and lots of pictures.

We are already looking forward to next year’s homecoming week!
