This school year started off with a bit of uncertainty for everyone. Whether your child is learning at home, in a physical classroom, or through a hybrid model, you, like many parents, are navigating a variety of new challenges. You may even be feeling like your child is falling behind, either academically, socially, or spiritually.

Families are pursuing private school options now more than ever. Many families may also realize that a Christian education is one of the most important investments they can make in their child’s life. While switching schools may bring about a little anxiety for parents and students alike, finding a school that aligns with your family’s values can be life changing.

Here are a few good reasons to think about making a switch.

  1. You are looking for a school that more closely aligns with your family values.

If what is being taught at home and school do not align, it is difficult for families to play an active role in their child’s education. At LCA, biblical truths are woven into every subject area, and students benefit from interacting with strong Christian mentors in their classrooms and extracurricular activities. We recognize that a quality education is built upon Christ-centered relationships. Our faculty and staff live out our mission statement, and inspire and equip students to become well-educated, accomplished pursuers of Christ.

  1. Your child needs more individual attention.

If your student could benefit from more personalized support from his or her teacher, you’re not alone. Many families inquire about Legacy Christian Academy because we are known for small class sizes and a high level of individualized attention. We pay close attention to learning styles and cater our approach to help students experience meaningful growth. Our faculty and staff model lifelong learning and encourage LCA students to be participants rather than spectators in their education.

  1. COVID challenges are preventing your child from reaching his/her potential.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, every school has had to make adjustments. The reality is, things are a little more complicated than they were before, but no student’s education should be compromised. LCA has invested almost $1 million in campus enhancements to ensure students can confidently and safely learn face to face. A few of these enhancements include providing 1:1 devices so students are able to seamlessly transition from classroom to virtual learning when necessary, adding 10 new teaching positions and expanding classroom space to accommodate social distancing, outdoor classroom options, plexiglass shields in shared spaces (such as reception areas, and the cafeteria), and kiosks to take temperatures. We have also installed touchless water bottle dispensers, paper towel dispensers, and hand sanitizing stations. If your child is struggling academically this year, we’d love to share more about our COVID-19 plan and how we are prioritizing both student success and safety.

  1. You’re moving and looking for a great fit close to home.

We love meeting families who are planning a move, or have recently moved to the Frisco area of North Texas! Relocation is a common reason for switching schools, and finding the right fit can help your family form meaningful connections and build lasting friendships. LCA is conveniently located just off the Dallas North Tollway and affords easy access to all major highways and a variety of attractions.

  1. You are worried about your child’s emotional and spiritual growth.

Social issues often prompt parents to search for a better environment for their child. Issues like a negative culture, a lack of inclusivity, or bullying can take a toll on a child of any age. Today, some parents may simply feel that their child is not getting enough social interaction. At LCA, families discover a close-knit community where students are nurtured and challenged as they discover and embrace their identity and purpose in Christ.

“Our path to Legacy wasn't a traditional one. Three summers ago, when our middle daughter had finished second grade, we saw her losing her spark. We began to look at different options and took a tour of Legacy. From the moment we first stepped into that school for a tour, we were overwhelmed with a sense of community – a sense of family. And so with that, we began the enrollment process for her. She entered Legacy in third grade, her spark was ignited, and we haven't looked back since.”  -The Semadeni Family

  1. Safety is a concern.

Every parent deserves the peace of mind that their child is safe while at school. If you are concerned about your child’s physical or emotional safety, you can take comfort in the numerous preventative measures LCA has in place. Campus security, hygiene, digital safety, and socio-emotional health are top priorities.

  1. Your current school is not very flexible when it comes to meeting families where they are.

When it comes to education in the time of COVID-19, it’s important that a school can be flexible and prepared to accommodate every family’s unique circumstances. LCA is proactively following guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to inform health and safety on campus. If any student needs to work from home for a time due to illness or exposure, we provide all the resources and support needed to ensure they don’t fall behind.

Whether your struggle is on this list or not, we’d love to hear more about why you’re considering a switch and the goals you have for your child. LCA offers year-round admissions, and our enrollment process can be completed in a few weeks.
