Grant Edwards with his hair dyed green together with some of his classmatesWhy did you choose Legacy? We chose Legacy for the strong Christian foundation it gives our children by reinforcing the values we teach at home. They are surrounded by Godly teachers and staff who truly care about them and can point them to the Lord. We also wanted them to belong to a school large enough to provide many choices for extracurricular activities but small enough that they are able to participate in them easily. We have one child who has already graduated and he was well prepared for the academic and social responsibilities of college. Legacy has been one of the best decisions we have made for our children and I truly believe it will have a lasting impact on their lives. I am passionate about raising the next generation to be strong in their faith. There is nothing that will impact their life, and eternity, more than that. They will likely face ever-increasing obstacles and opposition and must be ready for the challenge.

Was there anything specific about Legacy that influenced your decision? We really loved the “small town” feel of the school community in addition to all the other attributes. At Legacy, students get an atmosphere that encourages their growth spiritually, mentally, and academically. The teachers here are dedicated to their students’ success in all these areas.

Edwards cheerWhat advice would you give families who are considering LCA? If you are considering LCA, take a tour. Nothing replaces that feeling you get on campus, seeing the happy students and teachers.  You can feel that this is a special place. I chose to work at Legacy because I get to play a small part in furthering the mission of the school while getting to work with some of the best people you will ever meet.

If you could go back in time and give yourself advice about enrolling at LCA, what would you say? Don't overthink it. Take one year at a time if it seems overwhelming. Also, get involved with PTF and come to the football games. You will meet so many friends- for you and your children! LCA is very welcoming! I am an administrative assistant.

Edwards bandHow has LCA helped your children thrive? They have been supported academically, spiritually, and socially. The teachers and staff want your child to succeed and have the tools available to facilitate that goal. My favorite part of the school day is whenever I get to see the students engaged in something they are passionate about. Seeing the band playing, football players practicing,  cheerleaders cheering, or just smiling faces in the hallways fills my heart up.

How has Legacy lived up to your expectations? Legacy has lived up to our expectations. Our children each have a strong, well-thought-out faith, have deep friendships, are hard-working students, and are involved in their individual passions. This was exactly what wanted for our children. I love getting to know so many LCA families and faculty. We have such a great community!
