We are excited to announce that Mrs. Shera Cameron will be joining the Intermediate School Team for 2016-2017, where she will be teaching Spanish to grades 5, 6, and 8.

Shera graduated with her B.A. in Public Relations and Marketing from Texas Tech University, and has her Secondary Teaching Certification from The University of Texas Dallas. After college, Shera began working in software
marketing , and then began her teaching career. She taught junior high English for 3 years, high school Spanish for 1 year, and substitute taught at Legacy for 5 years. “I love Intermediate School students,” comments Shera. “The Spanish language and culture have always fascinated me, and I get to share my faith and talk about Jesus with my students.”

Shera and her husband have been married for 17 years and have two daughters who attend LCA, Sydney and Rachel. She has a passion for teaching Intermediate School students and helping them learn and grow in the Lord.

Mrs. Cameron believes that teaching Spanish goes beyond learning the language. She and her family go to Mexico at least 4 times each year, where they work with Casa Hogar Elim, an orphanage in Nuevo Laredo, Mexico. Shera plans on giving each student a photo of a child from the orphanage to pray for throughout the year, helping the students understand the different ways we love and serve others.

“I love Legacy and the Intermediate School age,” Shera notes. “I am ready to be back in the classroom teaching what I love.”
