Legacy Christian Academy exists to partner with Christian families in the education of their children. We educate children daily according to our school's stated mission and core values. This partnership requires the commitment of both parties as they submit to the authority of our Lord and Savior. We maximize the effectiveness of Christian education when parties are equally engaged in the process.

A consumer-based approach to education and spiritual formation has become rampant in our modern society. Some parents seek a place to drop off their children for others to serve in this capacity. While there is nothing wrong with enlisting the help of people or organizations aligned with your beliefs and values, they do not absolve us from our responsibility as parents. We must remain actively engaged in these partnerships while continually seeking ways to grow in our faith and in community with those who share similar beliefs.

We desire to not only educate children well but also to equip parents effectively. To help in this effort, we provide multiple opportunities for parents to build community, volunteer at the school, and grow as believers and parents. Over the next few weeks, we have two excellent opportunities for involvement and education.

Tommy Nelson, Pastor of Denton Bible Church, will be speaking at our PEP Talk next Monday (Feb 6). The registration deadline is Friday, and you may do so by clicking here. Mr. Nelson has spoken at LCA many times and never disappoints. You will not want to miss this opportunity to strengthen your marriage. A strong marriage before God is the best gift you can give your children. Yes, even more important than providing a Christian education.

Then, on February 17 & 18, we are excited to be hosting an apologetics conference for our students, faculty, and families. In partnership with Biola University Apologetics, we seek to equip the church to defend and know the truth of the Christian faith. You will hear top apologists and philosophers Craig Hazen, Clay Jones, and Brett Kunkle speak on topics such as arguments for the existence of God, why God allows evil, and how to equip the next generation. When I served as Upper School Principal, I often heard parents stating how they wanted to learn some things their high schoolers were learning about their faith in our Upper School Bible classes. Now is your chance! This conference is a tremendous opportunity that I highly recommend you attend! The deadline for early registration is Feb 10. To register, please click here

I hope you will take advantage of these opportunities and the countless more LCA provides to invest in you as a parent. We know that you are the most influential person in your child's life. You are worth every effort!! See you soon, and stay warm!

Growing Together,

Kevin Mosley
